We have an owl nest in a hole in the top of a tree down by the lake. Yesterday a baby owl fell out of the nest and was standing on the ground. Nicki was three feet from it, trying to get closer, but she was afraid because the mother owl was dive bombing her. I noticed this and got Nicki out of there.
The Mom was up in a tree watching intently as I decided what to do.
My neighbor was riding his lawn mower, so I asked him what he thought. He had a similar situation in the past and told me to put the baby owl on the tree and it would climb back to it's nest. As we got closer to the baby, the mother got closer too.
I picked up the baby and placed it on the tree, it grabbed the tree, and sure enough it started to climb. Within 15 minutes it was back in the hole at the top of the tree.

Snow in Benton
We had 4 inches of snow overnight. We blame Global Warming!!!! Click on the house picture to make it bigger, I turned it into a "painting" using Photoshop. You might see this one on our Christmas Cards next year. This first picture is destined for the next Shreveport Photographic Society competition.
